WEEKEND WEAKNESS

As we approach a long weekend I just wanted to give some extra encouragement to stay strong!  Weekends seem to be the hardest for me.  I get off of my normal schedule and then everything seems to fall apart.  I am at home around food all day and there always seems to be some family party or dinner to attend.

Don't lose control!  Stay strong!  Enjoy yourself, but don't undo everything you worked so hard for during the week.

Every Sunday we usually go to dinner at my in-laws or at my parents.  Last Sunday Brian's mom made Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, french fries, fruit, veggies, and a peach dessert.  It was the last day of our four week challenge and I didn't want to over eat.  But everything looked so good (she is a great cook)!  I decided to start with a half of a sandwich and a half of slice of cheese instead of a whole sandwich and a whole slice of cheese.  I had about 6 fries, some watermelon, and lots of veggies.  At first I didn't think this was going to be enough food for me, but as I finished I felt great.  I then was still able to have dessert without feeling guilty.  I don't like the feeling that I can't eat something, so it helped just to have smaller portions and be able to have a little bit of everything.  (I don't always have that self-control haha!)

If anyone else has other ideas about how they stay strong on the weekends, please share in the comments below!  I love hearing new ideas.

  1. Weekends are totally my worst too. I always eat everything I lost the previous week. It's so frustrating! So, thanks for the motivation!!!!

  2. I think staying busy helps. Less time to think about food ;) As for meals at your parent's house, I think you did great. Smaller portions are key!
